Built for operational performance, the new LMT Spec War upper was developed with input from specialized warfighters. It is designed to accommodate the 12.5" MRP barrel and other 12" or longer barrels. To improve ergonomics and accessory real estate, we removed built-in forward QD swivels and extended the length beyond traditional CQB standards, delivering a stronger fighting edge and enhanced lethality.
While preserving barrel swap capability, the Spec War emphasizes a rigid platform for mounted laser aiming and illumination devices, essential for night operations. It also features an M-LOK rail mounting platform and a continuous Picatinny top rail. A single-point QD sling option is available at the aft portion of the receiver.
The patented LMT monolithic rail platform (MRP) upper receiver is forged as a single piece from aerospace-grade aluminum for both the receiver and handguard. The barrel is secured with a proprietary locking system using two locking bolts accessible from the right side. The only tool required is a standard T-30 Torx to tighten the bolts. This upper requires the patented LMT monolithic barrel assembly, which uses a low-profile gas block with a straight gas tube.
