Deryk DC Munroe is the principal engineer and craftsman behind MunroeKnives. A lifelong interest in weaponry inspired his first knife in 1984, and after a winding path he became a full-time knifemaker in 1997. He has continually explored and refined the craft, delivering a distinctive style and superb folder quality. It made perfect sense for Tony to collaborate with Deryk again on the second Munroe/Marfione collaboration knife, the Cypher.
The Microtech Cypher brings back a fan-favorite OTF with cutting-edge upgrades to the original design. Reimagined inside and out, the Cypher sets a new standard for out-the-front technology. Microtech’s latest dual-fuel drivetrain delivers effortless actuation and the smoothest action yet seen in an OTF.
Chassis jimping adds both style and maximum grip, while the 6Al4V titanium pocket clip with a ceramic detent ensures secure, accessible carry. A screwless body and integral glass breaker contribute to a streamlined look, and the redesigned button pocket reduces friction and aids debris displacement. With its compact size and easy deployment, the redesigned Cypher exemplifies Microtech’s signature blend of style and utility in the out-the-front lineup.
