The Surefire XC1 incorporates user-friendly ambidextrous controls offering both momentary- and constant-on modes:
For momentary-on, use your support hand thumb to press down on one of the two rear switches, or slide your thumb forward against the switch until it engages downward. Release pressure, and the light deactivates instantly. NOTE: To minimize accidental triggers, the light remains inactive when the rear switches are pressed upward or laterally.
Constant-on mode activates by sliding the central crossbar switch from left to right with your support hand. To deactivate, simply move it from right to left. The switch is recessed to guard against unintentional operation.
