This variant of the SFX9 features a 4-inch barrel with a new SF (Solid Frame) lightweight aluminum grip design. The frame, machined from solid T6-7075 aluminum, is rugged, comfortable, and highly concealable. It's light enough for extended carry, and the enhanced grip shape boosts recoil control during rapid fire and extended sessions.

More durable than two-piece designs, the slim SFX9 solid frame with Wilson Combat’s X-Tac tread pattern offers non-abrasive, comfortable control in all conditions. It can be ordered with various trigger, finish, and sight options, including red dot sight machining.

The SFX9 retains the robust EDC X9 magazine, designed by Mec-Gar for optimal 9mm performance. The sub-compact slide assembly includes Wilson Combat’s "Enhanced Reliability System" (ERS) for 9mm 1911s, ensuring reliability even when fouled or low on lubrication. Features include a tri-top slide, match-grade barrel, reduced frame rails, and a rugged external extractor.

The hand-fitted 4-inch barrel offers match-grade accuracy and is tuned for reliability with diverse ammunition. Like other EDC X9 models, the SFX9 can be field stripped without tools and fully disassembled with a single punch. The stainless steel slide has an advanced black DLC finish for corrosion and abrasion resistance.
