The Colt M5 is a modern evolution of Colt's AR-15 platform, incorporating redesigned upper and lower receivers, fully ambidextrous controls, and an updated free-floating handguard. This semi-automatic pistol configuration features an 11.5-inch barrel and traditional direct-impingement operating system.

The barrel features a chrome-lined bore and chamber with a manganese phosphate exterior finish. Both receivers are manufactured from 7075-T6 aluminum with Type III hardcoat anodizing. Additional components include a Radian Raptor charging handle, Magpul K2 pistol grip, and SB Tactical SBA5 stabilizing brace.
